Laker Collection

  All about the Lake boats "Lakers". This collection contains boats built throughout the 1900's.

ARTHUR B. HOMER    Built 1959 River Rouge, MI    Length 711.16    

Collection: 81 images in her last few years. Taken on board during the winter lay-up in Toledo in 1985/6

Notes: The Homer was the sister ship for the Edmund Fitzgerald. Reference boats built 1950's and 60's.

EDWARD L. RYERSON    Built 1960 Manitowoc, WI    Length 712   

Collection: 178 images, taken on board during the her lay up in the 1990's.   

Notes: One of the best collections of the Edward L. Ryerson. Jim did a great job capturing the detail!!

Maumee    Built 1929 Lorain, OH    Length 587   

Collection: 148 images, taken on board during boom repairs in Sarnia.   

Notes: My first collection preserving these great boats!! She's a little rough, but still a real beauty!!

Reserve    Built 1952 River Rouge, MI    Length 676   

Collection: 198 images, sailing on board somewhere out in the Lakes.   

Notes: The AAA class!! Scott Tomlinson took these shots while sailing as a deckhand the summer of 2006. Scott is also a modeler and walking encyclopedia on Great Lake Vessels!!

Willis B. Boyer    Built 1911 Ecorse, MI    Length 590   

Collection: 355 images, as she's dock in Toledo Ohio as a Museum Ship.
