This database collection has many very detailed images of various vessels around the Great Lakes. The images are collected from many different sources and compiled here for your enjoyment and research. A big thanks goes out to all the photographers and that have contributed to this database!!!!

LAKER COLLECTION        

Collection: All about the Lake boats "Lakers". This collection contains boats built throughout the 1900's.

Notes: Many of these freighters in this collection can be used for referencing other boats built around the same time, say plus or minus 10 years. The construction techniques and general armaments vary little, a quick reference with your project can at least point you in the right direction.

Coast Guard COLLECTION    

Collection: The Coast Guard and the vessels that have pulled duty on the Great Lakes.     

Notes: A thanks to our forces serving on the Lakes over the years! Much of this collection comes from various government organizations such as the Library of Congress.

G.L. VESSEL COLLECTION    

Collection: A look at the many other types of vessels found on the Great Lakes.     

Notes: Here you will find Tugs, Fish Tugs, Barges, Ferries and other vessels.

DETAIL COLLECTION    

Collection: A detailed look at specific items found onboard various vessels.     

Notes: This collection is a compilation of all the images in this database. A good example would be a detailed look at the  different types of hatches such as: Wood, Telescoping and Kessler Clamp Hatches. It's simply designed to help you with your search on key items.
