October 7th
" River Rat Club "
Port Huron
We kick the build
season off right with a great October meeting and several
new members. Steve Borowski - Bill Bernum - Len Perry -
Bill Mckee, I'd like to
welcome you gentlemen to the group, great talking to you
all.
After a busy summer for us
all, it was nice to get back into club matters. Attending:
Jeff Churill - Scott Tomlinson - Norm Hart - Mike Ferguson
- Steve Borowski - Bill Bernum - Len Perry
Pond Construction:
Norm spoke with Acheson Ventures regarding our pond
construction. Looks like CRX Railroad will be removing the
tracks next spring, opening the land for construction. So
spring we should see some good progress.
Club Dues: We decided that
we will start collecting dues the first of the year. Dues
will be $15.00
Winter Activates: To say
the least, we have some great things in store for members.
We plan to have several weekend meetings covering building
demonstrations of different types for members and none
members. We also have some other items in store, but only
for members.
Models on display: Norm
Harts Tashmoo - Mike Ferguson's Calcite - Ed Cooks
Highlander Sea - Jeff Churills - Belle River
superstructure and 2 tugs, Steve's electric speed boat
Building Demonstrations: Ed
Cook and Norm Hart both talk about there projects. Norm
building a static model of the Tashmoo. Ed building
a RC model of the Highlander Sea in 3/8X1 scale. Ed is a
volunteer on the real Highlander Sea. Both Ed an Norm
spoke about working with wood to build there models. Mike
Ferguson brought his Calcite which will be made of
styrene. Mike went over the different glues used for
plastics and how this unique construction is done.
November meeting we will be
covering researching and research items, also how to
research a project. We will also be having our meeting in
an undisclosed location. This meeting will be for members
only, however if you wish to find out more about
membership, your welcome join us in November. All must
contact me in regards to membership and or our next
