Norm Hart our club rep last talk with the Acheson representative brought some good news, looks like this spring the landscape will start.

It will first start with the rail road removing all the track in the rail yard. Once that is completed, which I don't think will take to long, the digging of the harbor, canal and pond will take place. Nothing else can be done till they are dug, do to all the dirt they have to move. We'll have a better idea once they start, how long it's going it be before we get to use the pond.

As you can see much has change for the initial plans, for now they are making a large recreational park. The Harbor "James Bay" will be the heart of it while next to the Black River. A channel will run from the harbor to our pond and back into the St. Clair River. The channel and pond will be closed off to boat traffic, and with our input it will be designed for remote control boats in mind.

We still can't get over what Acheson is doing for us. To be able to run our models right next to the St. Clair River is just perfect. It will prove to be an ideal location to hold our Annual International Great Lakes Regatta, and a joy to run our monthly Fun Runs.
