 Esther Beris of Bearco Model Marine has a new HO 1/87scale full operation Dockside Crane coming out. All I can say is WOW. They also built an interesting kit for Mision Point on Mackinaw Island! The Split D. G. Kerr.

 Captain Chris Bloswick and his W-234 Maple Lighthouse Tender. I absolutely love these boats!! Chris did a nice job on this Lake Tender.

November 12th the Dossin Great Lakes Museum will hold a special open house on remembering the S. S. Edmund Fitzgerald. Many special people will be there including family members, those that worked and sailed on the Fitz. and Capt. Donald Erickson  of the William Cley Ford, just for starters. Also the Great Lakes Modeling Association will have a small roll to play covering models and the special roll they play in remembering the ships and their crew. A great honor for both Jim Clark and myself! More information at the Dossin website!!

A feature story on John Foley and his 30' diarama model of the Bell River in the 1800's. Johns model is on display at the Marine City Museum whom he is also the curator. Nothing sort of outstanding here!!!

Jeff Gushman is the new owner of the M/V Marquette, ferry that runs to Mackinaw Island. It was built by Brian Perrault, great work!!

Building a working Aerial lift Bridge like the one a the entrance to the Duluth Harbor! This is a change of pass for my and really having fun with it!! Going to have a blast with it next summer!!

Chris Petersen of Petersen fisheries out of Muskegon, Mi shows of his Fish Tug Maggie Lynn. Built in 1941 she is still operating in Lake Michigan!! Love these boats!!

Russ Mamere does a great job building the U.S. Brig Niagara. This is his first project like this and really did an amazing job. It only cost him $27 to build the hull!! To cool Russ!!

Types of Tape and the many uses for modeling! I've found tape to be a very handy tool for me, and thought I'd share a few idea's with you. Hope this gives a few idea's of you own!!

I have the honor to announce we have or first "Cannaller". Barrett Hochhaus built the ill fated Kamloops. Barrett take a different approach by building his model from cardboard. Great work Barrett!!!

Work a bit on my Tanker Barge 5101. Managed to get the hull painted. Pretty straight forward, going to keep things simple with this project. Now I can putts with adding the detail!!

My Edmund Fitzgerald is prepped for painting. Really looking like she had just been launch all in primer base coat. Might just get to painting her this weekend!! Hard to believe after so long!

Miscellaneous Fittings: Some useful items found at various crafts stores. Tacks for vents – beads for lights – iron on buttons for lamps – fabric for flooring – snaps for securing – wire for railing – rings for portholes.

 Ok so I have been making good progress on my Edmund Fitzgerald over the last few weeks. It's been 6 years since I started this project and it's time she gets completed. It's so nice to get back in the groove! My latest is finishing the hull detail so she can get her hull painted. Latest work is with the portholes in the hull. Portholes

 Some great shots of Alan's first couple sea trials. We had the honor of seeing his Vacationlands maiden voyage at our Port Huron Great Lakes Regatta. What a great looking model in and out of the water!! Very Cool!! More about it here!!

 Our May meeting was great. "Burgers and Boats" We enjoyed a BBQ while watch the boats and talking about club stuff, and our up coming Regatta. Had a good time!!

 I went through and put together a very good list of sources to help in your research. It was very supprised what I found available online. So of these databases are so big, they seem endless. I even found color images of the Algosoo from 1914! This is my next project so that was very exciting to find. Research Page

 To date the best model I've seen, Gunnters Lomie A. Burton Some outstanding craftsmanship to say the least. The scope of this model at 6 feet long is unbelievable.
