Esther Beris and Family of Bearco Model Marine

Bearco Marine Model is located in Madison, Ohio about 40 miles east of Cleveland. Richard and Esther Beris have been modeling boats for quite a few years, mostly wooden carvings. A few years ago they went to purchase a kit from Voco Marine, located in Painesville Ohio. And one thing led to another and they ended up purchasing the Voco Marine line of vacuum formed kits.

The Beris's have been working on improving the kits and instructions and making them available on the internet at www.BearcoMarine.com . They have already completed instructions to convert their kit into an RC model and their current project is to include kit-bashing instructions in their AMOCO tanker kit to convert it into the Edmund Fitzgerald. It will be a nice size model at only 56" long. They have also been busy trying to encourage young people to get involved in the modeling of Great Lakes Freighters by the creation of 3 smaller kits: a 24" & 8" wooden classic freighter model, and just recently a 10" 1000 footer model. These kits are available at the Boyer Museum in Toledo and the Mather Museum in Cleveland and thru the website.

Bearco Marine Model's latest custom built model is currently being seen by millions of TV viewers on the set of CBS-TV "The Bold and the Beautiful". The model was originally built as the AMOCO Indiana with it's characteristic bright red deck. For the TV show, it's name has been changed to something like MASINO. CBS-TV will be sending publicity pictures soon and they will be made available to this website.

They are also currently working on custom models for the Ashtabula Marine Museum and the William Mather Museum.
Thanks for your interest in Bearco Marine Model and

Happy modeling!
