The Lucia
A. Simpson, I completed a few years ago. It originally was a full
hull, bread and butter model that was started back in the 60's,
and then languished on the workshop shelf for almost 30 years. I
finally decided to do something with it, or through it away. She
was in pretty bad shape, so a half hull seemed like the best way
to go. I built a cradle out of angle iron and threaded rod, and
laid the model on its side, so the centerline of the hull lined up
with the angle iron. I had to use a hacksaw to cut the hull in
half since I suspected that there were wood screws imbedded in the
lifts. I encountered three of them as I cut along the model's
length.
