Eagle Boats of 1918

These little boats at 250 feet came about with the Navy realizing it needed a small sub-chaser then the Destroyers of WW1. It's fascinating how Henry Ford managed to get the contract to build 100 of these boats starting in 1918. The model here is real nice! I really would like to build one of these, a military boat built on the Lakes!! This particular model can be found at the Mariners Church in Detroit, MI. It's a 75th Anniversary of the Eagle Boats. A gift of Bryan R. Ford!!
