Here's my scratch built model of the
U.S. Brig Niagara Commodore Perry sailed to defeat the British on
Sept. 10th 1813 in the Battle of Lake Erie.
Niagara
Website
It's a totally scratch built job made of a
2"x6", some balsa sheeting, bass wood and a couple of doll rods.
It's a nice display measuring 34" long, 19" high and 6" wide. I
started on it in early August finishing it September 10th. I just
plugged away at it trying to closely duplicate the really thing
with no plans. Other then some fittings everything was scratch
built with a total cost of only $28.72. This was a change of pace
for me and turned out better then I had hoped. I now own a replica
of a little piece of Great Lakes History!!
Nice work Russ, this is the stuff I like to
see and hear!! Jeff Churill
