Vessel Name:

U.S. Brig Niagara

Here's my scratch built model of the U.S. Brig Niagara Commodore Perry sailed to defeat the British on Sept. 10th 1813 in the Battle of Lake Erie. Niagara Website

It's a totally scratch built job made of a 2"x6", some balsa sheeting, bass wood and a couple of doll rods. It's a nice display measuring 34" long, 19" high and 6" wide. I started on it in early August finishing it September 10th. I just plugged away at it trying to closely duplicate the really thing with no plans. Other then some fittings everything was scratch built with a total cost of only $28.72. This was a change of pace for me and turned out better then I had hoped. I now own a replica of a little piece of Great Lakes History!!

Nice work Russ, this is the stuff I like to see and hear!! Jeff Churill
