Launched
in 1953 by the Story Shipbuilding Company of Bay City, the
S/S Sir Isaac Brock is a highly versatile vessel. Launched
as a self-unloader she has her original 250-foot unloading
boom and a bucket type elevator system with two hold belts.
The former flagship of Inland Seas Transportation, the Brock
has been with us since 1998 and was the first ship of the
fleet. The ship is named for Major General Sir Isaac Brock.
Brock was the British General who captured Detroit in the
War of 1812. He was later killed at the Battle of Queenston
Heights while leading his troops into battle. Get
