Here I have the spar deck and hull rough sanded down ready for a good
heavy coat of
primer. You never now how well of a sand job you did till you get that
first coat of primer down, only then will all the imperfections show. I
use Rustoleam Brown Primer, works great!

The hull came out really well, not much filling to do. Know I can sand
down the primer making for a good finish. I start with a light sanding
with 150grit to see what needs work. Do a bit of filling where needed. Then move to 250 grit and finish it
with 320 grit. I sand most of the primer off, so I can add the hull detail
such as rub rails and deck combing.

Now it's August of 2005.
With the hall prepped for paint I can then add the hull detailing, combing and
bulwark. These are added after the hull finishing so that the heavy coat
of primer don't bead in the fine corners of the detail. I made sure to
remove any primer under the detailing for a good strong gluing. Again
filling around the bulwark if needed.
 Final
priming! Now I still need to put a finish primer coat on the hull before
painting.

Everything straight and looking good! She's looking to get some paint real
soon!!

Nice cool day so I brought her outside for the finish coat of primer.

This Rustoleam primer sprays so nice! All I need to do here is apply a
light coat of primer for the paint to bond to. The areas where I did some
filling I laid it on a bit thicker. This will soak in a bit and give me a
little more to work with during my final sanding.

The hull looks great! I could not be happier with how she turned out. This
is the stage I really enjoy! Seeing all that work coming together!!
