Now that we have our bulkheads cut and everything fits like it
should, we can start gluing them together. Planning is important
here, if your hull splits in half then you want to leave the center
side to side bulkhead out. If you have a one piece hull you can
glue all bulkheads in place.
1. Start by laying the center for/aft bulkheads on the Starboard side.
Then Glue the Port bulkheads to the Port side of the center for/aft
bulkhead. Make sure you glue the correct edge to the center
bulkhead.
2. Next lay the center bulkhead with the Port bulkheads attached on the
Port side. The glue the Starboard bulkheads in place.
3. Now you can glue this assembly to the hull bottom. Place it
square to the Port edge 1/8th inch inboard to allow room for the Port side
bulkhead. Check to see the starboard also has a 1/8th clearance. Check the
side to side bulkheads for squareness on the outboard edges to the bottom.
4. Once everything looks in place and square, glue the center
for aft bulkhead down. Then glue the side to side bulkheads down. Just
make sure in this step that the bulkheads are fully resting on the bottom.
5. Now you can glue the side bulkheads in place. Again check
for a good fit before gluing.
6. Now flip it over to glue the starboard side bulkhead down.
7. Finish gluing the side bulkheads.
8. If you have a two peace hull do the same with the aft section as
stated above.
9. Finish off the frame by gluing in the small 1/4 gussets for added
strength.
10. The finish frame minus the mid bulkhead where the hull splits in
two sections. This will be covered in the next section
